Developed by Team Ninja under the direction of Tomonobu Itagaki, Hardcore gathers and polishes the arcade and Dreamcast versions of the game, with a combat system based on counterattacks and dodges, multi-tiered stages with level differences that affect combat, and a cast of characters that would become the saga's trademark. It was also an early showcase of PS2's graphical potential in the fighting genre.
It's still remembered as one of the most technically impressive fighting games of the console's early days, and a key piece for understanding Dead or Alive's consolidation as a franchise.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
