Polyphony Digital crammed more than 700 cars and a century of automotive history onto a single DVD, from the first 1886 Daimler all the way to prototypes. It debuted the full Nürburgring Nordschleife, all 20 kilometers of the Green Hell, and supported 1080i resolution, an absolute rarity on PS2. Its photo mode turned thousands of players into virtual car photographers. It sold more than eleven million copies without any online mode at all.
