AFL Live 2003 was developed by Australian studio IR Gurus and arrived in 2002, part of the series of official Australian Football League (AFL) simulators that studio produced during much of the first half of the 2000s. It featured the competition's real teams and players, with season and quick-match modes aimed at the local Australian and New Zealand audience, where the sport is hugely popular. Like most of these regional sports licenses, it saw little distribution outside Oceania, though for Australian football fans it represented one of the few ways to play it on console during the Xbox era.
