Beat Down is a 3D beat 'em up with an urban aesthetic, hand-to-hand combat, improvised weapons, and a street gang setting, in the tradition of street fighting games that sought to update the classic arcade genre for the polygonal era. It was distributed with a different profile depending on the territory, and in some markets it arrived under the subtitle Fists of Vengeance.
It's a decent but little-remembered action game, overshadowed by genre references with bigger productions; today it's more of a curiosity for those tracing the lineage of the urban beat 'em up in the sixth generation.
