Aeroboto is a vertically-scrolling shoot 'em up published in 1984, notable for adding a tractor beam to the standard shooting formula, letting the player lift items and use them as a weapon or shield. It's a design touch that sets it apart from the wave of Xevious clones that filled arcades in those years. It's remembered today mostly among early-80s board collectors, as a minor but clever variation on the classic vertical shooter, at a moment when the genre was just finishing defining its rules.
