Ares no Tsubasa — "the wings of Ares" — is the board that circulated in the West as Gun Frontier: a Taito shoot 'em up that mixes far-west aesthetics with steam-powered machinery, and that at a certain point in each level gets the player off their vehicle to continue the fight on foot. That alternation between flying and walking was its distinctive mark within the studio's shooting catalog.
It was overshadowed by other Taito shooters from the same wave, but it retains a clever level design that makes it more interesting than its reputation suggests.
