Chase H.Q. puts the player in the shoes of a cop who must ram fugitive criminals' cars until destroying them, against a timer that only refills if the target is caught in time. Taito built here one of the decade's most imitated racing formulas, with a sense of speed and urgency hard to match at the time.
Its influence shows in dozens of later chase games, and it remains, along with Out Run, one of the mandatory references when talking about 80s arcade racing.
