Dai Makai-Mura is the Japanese version of the game the West knew as Ghouls'n Ghosts: the knight Arthur once again crosses a realm infested with demons, zombies, and medieval creatures, armor included, in the direct sequel to Makaimura (Ghosts'n Goblins). Capcom released it in 1988 and raised both the graphical level and the cruelty of its difficulty curve, already legendary since the first entry. It's one of the summits of Capcom's arcade action-platforming: visual splendor, cruel level design, and that particular satisfaction of beating a game that doesn't forgive a single slip, something that keeps it relevant among players seeking a genuine challenge.
