Akuma-Jou Dracula is the Japanese version of Haunted Castle, Konami's attempt to bring its vampire-hunting saga to the arcade board in 1988. A knight armed with a whip crosses a gothic castle facing skeletons, bats, and Dracula himself, with the rigor and blistering pace that always set the series apart.
Along with MSX's Vampire Killer, it's the franchise rarity almost nobody played at the time: notoriously harder than the console entries, which is why it's cited today more as a collector's curiosity than as the Castlevania people remember.
