DoDonPachi Dai-Fukkatsu (resurrection of DoDonPachi) is one of the most demanding vertical shooters in Cave's catalog, with screens that get saturated with hundreds of simultaneous bullets following precise geometric patterns, the trademark of the danmaku subgenre Cave itself helped define with the DonPachi saga. Black Label is the final revision, with balance adjustments and additional content over the original version.
It originally ran on Xbox 360-based hardware, already at a time when the arcade shoot 'em up was a niche sustained almost exclusively by Cave and a handful of Japanese studios. It remains today a mandatory reference for anyone wanting to understand just how far calculated difficulty can be taken within the genre.
