F-1 Grand Prix has the player compete in the 1991 Formula 1 season with a top-down view centered on the vehicle itself, in one of the first arcade titles to hold an official license from the category. Video System developed and published it in Japan in late 1991, arriving in the United States in April 1992 via Mc O'River. It's a reference piece for real-licensed arcade racing, at a time when much of the Formula 1 games still operated with fictional names and teams due to lack of commercial agreements.
