Catkanoid is a reinterpretation of the breakout genre — breaking blocks with a ball and a paddle — with a feline theme, developed for the Atari Lynx outside Atari Corp's official publishing channels.
It joins the long tradition of Breakout/Arkanoid variations that has run through the entire history of video games, here with the particular stamp of the independent creator scene that kept producing for Atari hardware.
