Pinball Jam arrived in 1992, published by Atari Corporation, gathering several simulated pinball tables within a single cartridge for the handheld: flippers, bumpers, and ramps digitally recreated, with the inherent limitations of representing a real table's physics on a screen as small as the Lynx's. It offered a variety of themes across its different tables to sustain interest beyond a single table. It's one of the representatives of digital pinball within Atari's handheld catalog, a genre that at the time was still competing at a disadvantage against the physical machines that filled arcades and bars.
