Sorcerer's Apprentice is the game Atari developed and published in 1983 for the 2600, based on the sequence from Fantasia in which Mickey Mouse animates enchanted brooms to carry water and ends up overwhelmed by his own spell: on one screen, Mickey catches objects falling from the sky; on the other, he runs up and down stairs to intercept the army of brooms before they flood the cave, with each star caught removing some of the accumulated water.
It was one of the few games that actually saw the light of day from a broader licensing deal between Atari and Disney, which also included projects about Snow White, Donald Duck, and Dumbo, none of which ended up being published. By the Atari 2600's graphical standards in 1983, it was considered a notable visual achievement.
