Stargunner combines, in its name, the aesthetic of the lone gunslinger with a space setting, a common formula in the early-80s shooter catalog. There isn't, however, enough reliable documentation to pin down its specific development, its exact platform of origin, or its release year with certainty.
Faced with that lack of certainty, we prefer honesty: it's one more piece of the era's scattered catalog, of interest to the curious collector rather than a well-documented chapter of the medium's history.
