Ohenro-San: Hosshin no Dojo offered something unusual within GameCube's catalog: a recreation of the Ohenro pilgrimage, the 1,400-kilometer route through the 88 temples of the Shikoku region, told through real photographs of the shrines and a physical pedometer that let players load real-life steps walked into the game.
Built especially for an older audience, uncommon among console players, it's one of the most singular oddities in GameCube's entire Japanese catalog: a video game built around contemplation and exercise rather than challenge or action.
