Not much record survives of Air Attack beyond the title itself and its belonging to the aerial-shooting genre. As happens with much of the minor arcade output of the eighties and nineties, it's a game that circulated through arcades without leaving the media footprint of its more celebrated contemporaries.
Best approached with an archaeologist's curiosity rather than the expectation of a recognized classic: today it helps gauge just how saturated the air-combat genre was during the arcade's golden age, with dozens of variants competing for the same audience.
