Arcadia is a 1981 fixed-screen shooter that closely follows the formula Galaxian had popularized two years earlier: formations of enemy ships that break rank to dive-attack while the player fires from the base of the screen.
It arrived at the peak of saturation for the fixed-screen shooter subgenre, before the shoot 'em up moved toward vertical and horizontal scrolling, and today it's remembered mostly as a testament to that formative stage of the genre.
