Bakutotsu Kijuutei is the name under which Exerizer was known in Japan, a 1988 Jaleco vertical shooter in which the player's ship can transform between different attack configurations depending on the situation, a twist on the standard fixed-power-up formula. The waves and bosses follow the genre's classic mold for that period. It's a representative piece of the late-80s Japanese shmup at its most technically ambitious.
