Batsugun, released by Toaplan in 1993, is a decisive vertical shoot 'em up in the genre's history: it was one of the studio's last works before its dissolution and it laid the aesthetic and design groundwork that much of its staff, later under the name Cave, would push to the extreme with the birth of bullet hell. This Special Version adjusts difficulty and the scoring system compared to the original edition.
It's a key piece for understanding where the DNA of series like DoDonPachi came from, and it's still played today both for its historical value and for how well its challenge is calibrated.
