Battle Circuit, published by Capcom in 1997, closes out the company's golden beat 'em up era with an eccentric sci-fi setting: bounty hunters and mutant creatures clash in futuristic stages, with an item-purchase system between levels uncommon for the genre. It reached almost exclusively Japan and a few Asian markets. Its distribution rarity turned it into a cult piece: technically it's one of Capcom's most polished beat 'em ups, but its limited circulation left it in the shadow of Final Fight or the Dungeons & Dragons arcade titles.
