Blandia is a one-on-one fighting game developed by Allumer in 1992, a spiritual sequel to its Gladiator, which adds weapons for every character on the roster and a visible damage system on the fighters' armor. Along with Time Killers, it's one of the first weapon-based fighting games to take Street Fighter II's structure as a model, anticipating ideas later perfected by series like Samurai Shodown or The Last Blade. It's a key, if little-remembered, piece in the genealogy of the weapon-based fighting game: the link between Gladiator and the explosion of the subgenre that would follow with SNK leading the way.
