Bomb Jack Twin picks up the formula of the original Tehkan Bomb Jack (1984) —jumping between fixed platforms collecting bombs without touching the ground or the enemies— but updates it with a faster pace and, above all, the option to play two at once. It was developed by NMK, and curiously an unused graphic left in the code mentions Tecmo (Tehkan's successor) as the distributor, suggesting that at some point it was conceived as an acknowledged sequel.
Without the impact of the original, it's still a title cherished by those who follow the lineage of Japanese fixed-screen platformers: it keeps that elegant level design in its simplicity, now with the extra dynamic of cooperation or competition between two players.
