Bubble Bobble offers a fixed-screen design that became a formula: blowing bubbles to trap enemies, popping them to eliminate them, and climbing level by level up a tower full of secrets and hidden power-ups. Its two-player co-op and its cute aesthetic, far removed from the usual arcade violence, made it a cross-cutting success.
It's one of the pillars of Taito's catalog and a mandatory reference for the genre: it inspired dozens of imitators and remains, decades later, one of the most beloved co-op games in arcade history.
