Bubble Bobble: Lost Cave V1.2 is an unofficial hack built on the engine of Taito's original Bubble Bobble (1986): it keeps Bub and Bob trapping enemies in bubbles through platform levels, but replaces the stage design with a new one created by fans, with no relation to Taito or the game's original creators. It's representative of the tradition of Bubble Bobble hacks, one of the most 'hacked' games in arcade history thanks to how accessible its level structure is. It's worth clarifying upfront: credit for the original design belongs to Taito, and what this version contributes is only the level content.
