Burning Force puts its protagonist, Yoko Yamamoto, on a flying bike to fly through on-rails shooter stages packed with enemies and huge bosses, with an aesthetic that mixes science fiction and very anime character design. Konami released it in 1989-90, right in the middle of the fashion for behind-the-vehicle-camera shooters that After Burner had popularized years earlier. It's a title fondly remembered by Konami fans of that era, both for its soundtrack and for the protagonist's design, in a genre —the on-rails shooter— where few productions achieved such a distinctive visual signature.
