Captain Silver is an action-platform arcade game Data East released in 1987, with a pirate protagonist who uses a grappling hook to move between platforms and a sword in hand to face enemies, on an island journey clearly inspired by classic swashbuckling adventure. The hook mechanic gives it its own identity within the platform genre of the era.
It's a minor title within Data East's catalog, little remembered outside collector circles, but with a thematic premise different from the science fiction and martial arts that dominated action arcades of those years.
