Chack'n Pop has a small character breaking stone blocks to free trapped hearts, while dodging monsters on a single-screen stage. It's one of Taito's first platformers, with simple rules that already anticipate the puzzle-action design the company would perfect in following years.
It remained a niche board next to more remembered platformers of the same era, but it holds a place of appreciation among those who trace the genre's origins in Taito's catalog.
