Combat was published by Exidy in 1985 on its Exidy 440 board: the player uses a gun mounted on the cabinet to protect allies and fight through enemy lines, climbing rank from Private to General as objectives are completed. It was sold both as a dedicated machine and in kit form, meant to convert cabinets from other Exidy light-gun shooters, such as Crossbow or Cheyenne.
It's a typical example of the on-rails light-gun shooter that dominated much of mid-80s American arcades, a genre that would later evolve into better-known titles like Lethal Enforcers or Time Crisis.
