Cybattler puts the player in command of Blanche, a mecha armed with guns, a laser sword, and special items that vary each stage, with a feature uncommon for the time: unlike other fixed-camera mecha shooters, this one can fire in eight directions while moving sideways. Jaleco released it in Japan in February 1993. It remained a niche piece even within Jaleco's catalog, but its omnidirectional shooting system earned it a place among collectors of Japanese board shooters, to the point of being reissued in the Arcade Archives series several decades later.
