Cyvern is a late-90s Japanese vertical shoot 'em up in which, instead of piloting conventional spaceships, the player controls biomechanical dragons that shoot and ram waves of enemies, an infrequent aesthetic variation within the genre.
It didn't reach the popularity of Cave's or Raizing's shooters of the same era, but its machine-dragon setting sets it apart within a genre saturated with generic ships.
