Darius Gaiden is the horizontal shooter that Taito released in 1994 within its celebrated saga of sea-creature-shaped ships, with a branching-route system between levels and enormous bosses that fill the entire screen. This 'Silver Hawk Extra Version' is a revised edition that adjusts the balance relative to the original version. In any of its revisions, Darius Gaiden is one of the visual and design peaks of the saga: the variety of routes and the scale of its bosses still impress even those who already know the genre by heart.
