DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou is, for much of the shooter audience, Cave's crowning work: a 2002 vertical shoot 'em up that takes bullet-pattern design to a level of density and geometric beauty rarely matched. The 'Black Label' edition is a later revision that adjusts the balance and raises the demands even further for the expert player. It's a mandatory reference within the danmaku genre, both for its deep scoring system and for the quality of its level design, which explains its almost legendary status among specialists in Japanese shooters.
