Donkey Kong Championship Edition is an unofficial modification of Nintendo's original 1981 Donkey Kong, created by the speedrunning and competitive-scoring community to offer platform and barrel layouts different from the base game, designed to challenge players who already know the original by heart.
It falls within a long tradition of hacks over the classic Donkey Kong, a game whose competitive scene keeps generating variants years after its debut.
