Double Dragon 3 - The Rosetta Stone sends the Lee brothers across China, Japan, and Egypt in search of the legendary Rosetta Stone, adding the ability to buy additional characters with coins collected during play, something uncommon for the genre in 1990. Technōs Japan developed it as the closing chapter of the trilogy that had founded the modern beat 'em up with the original 1987 Double Dragon. It's usually considered the weakest step of the original trilogy -somewhat stiffer controls, less overall polish- but it remains a mandatory reference piece for understanding the evolution of the genre this very saga helped invent.
