Double Dribble is a basketball arcade game Konami released in 1986, especially remembered for the animated sequences showing the most spectacular dunks from a cinematic perspective, something uncommon in sports simulators of the era. The game itself offered 5-on-5 matches with accessible controls.
It became an early benchmark of the arcade sports genre, both for those animations and for its later conversion to NES, which brought it to millions of homes. It's still remembered fondly more for that spark of spectacle than for the depth of its simulation.
