E.D.F. Earth Defense Force puts the player in command of a terrestrial ship fighting an alien invasion, in a side-scrolling shooter with the technical polish Jaleco was known for in those years: big sprites, flashy bosses, and the genre's classic weapon progression. It has no connection to the console series Earth Defense Force that Sandlot would popularize in the 2000s, despite sharing the name.
It's a solid shooter, though today less remembered than other contemporaries, representative of the good technical level Jaleco maintained in the early-90s shooting genre.
