Exzisus starts out as a conventional vertical shoot 'em up, but its great idea is letting two players merge their ships into a larger mecha with greater firepower, a combination mechanic uncommon for 1987.
It's a cult board within Taito's catalog, remembered mostly for that cooperative twist that set it apart from the general shooter offering of the era.
