F-1 Grand Prix Part II offers Formula 1 races with a top-down camera, an approach closer to action arcade than simulator, designed for quick reflex sessions rather than the strategic management of a long race. It was developed by Video System, a Japanese studio better known for its shooters than its racing games.
It got a home version for Super Famicom the year after its arcade debut. It's a minor title within the racing genre of the era, overshadowed by more remembered franchises like Out Run or Virtua Racing, but representative of how any 90s Japanese studio tried its luck in genres outside its usual specialty.
