1st Division Manager belongs to the extensive family of soccer management simulators that proliferated on European computers in the late 80s: the player runs a club, decides signings, lineup and approach, and sees results resolved mostly through tables and numbers rather than on-screen action. It is a minor title within a genre saturated with similar offerings, of which not many records remain beyond its existence in the catalogs of the time; its interest today is more archaeological than playable, as a sample of the manager fever that European sports software went through.
