This v2.0 is the later revision of the conversion that Paradise Programming made for the Atari ST of Alternate Reality: The City, published by Datasoft in 1986. The premise and design are the same as in v1.2 and in the original 8-bit Atari: exploring on foot, in first person, the city of Xebec's Demise, mapping it street by street while leveling up in real-time combat. What changes between the two editions are minor adjustments on that same base, typical of a game that kept being polished after its initial release. It remains, in either of its two ST editions, one of the most ambitious role-playing games the machine received in its first years, a direct heir to Philip Price's vision for the 8-bit Atari and the prelude to The Dungeon, the sequel that would close, unintentionally, the entire series.
