Barkley Shut Up and Jam! had successful versions on the Genesis and Super Nintendo in the early nineties, but the Jaguar conversion — undertaken in 1994 by Accolade along with studios B&C ComputerVisions and Ringler Productions, with digitized graphics of real players — never went on sale. Atari had signed a deal with Accolade to bring several of its titles to the system, but this one was cut short before completion. Today it circulates among collectors as a preserved prototype, a testament to the many projects Atari announced for the Jaguar that fizzled out along with the console before ever seeing a box on a shelf.
