Coleco held the Nintendo license to bring the Donkey Kong series to several consoles of the era, and this version translates the arcade sequel — where Junior has to climb vines, dodge Snapjaws, and free his father, locked up by Mario — to the 2600's much more limited graphical capabilities, with the trimmed-down scenery and animations that leap entailed.
It's inevitably compared to the ColecoVision and Intellivision versions, more faithful to the arcade original, but for anyone who only had an Atari at home, it was for quite a while the only way to follow the story after the original "Donkey Kong."
