Gangster Alley, published by Atari, brings the carnival shooting-gallery formula into the living room: gangster silhouettes and targets appear and disappear at different points on the screen, and the player has to hit them with the light gun or joystick before they duck away. It's part of the first batch of simple shooting games Atari itself used to show off the hardware and its peripherals' capabilities. Its shooting-gallery simplicity made it a minor but effective classic within the console's early catalog, designed for short, high-score-competitive sessions rather than a narrative experience.
