Kick Off 2 was designed by Dino Dini and published by Anco in 1990 for the Amiga and Atari ST, as a direct sequel to Kick Off. It kept the full pitch with multidirectional scrolling and the true-to-life proportions of players, lines, and goals, and added features that felt like a leap ahead at the time: an Action Replay feature that could be watched at normal speed or in slow motion and saved to disk, plus 24 different referees, each with their own judgment call when it came to blowing the whistle. It became the defining soccer sim of its generation, with a devoted player base that still competes in tournaments built around the original game today. Alongside Sensible Soccer, it's one of the two pillars that built the Atari ST's and Amiga's reputation as soccer machines, thanks to ball control grounded in real physics rather than pre-set animations.
