Kool-Aid Man, published by Mattel under its M Network label in 1983 for the Atari 2600, puts the player in charge of the powdered-drink mascot, who flies over a pool of Kool-Aid defending it from the "Thirsties," round creatures trying to drink it all through a straw. It was first distributed by mail before hitting shelves, following the typical promotional logic of food licenses at the time. Over time it gained a reputation as one of the weakest licensed games in Atari 2600 history, showing up on worst-of lists just as regularly as it's remembered with nostalgic humor.
