M*A*S*H, published by 20th Century Fox in 1983 for the Atari 2600 and based on the popular TV series, combines two mechanics within the same cartridge: first, piloting a medical helicopter to rescue wounded soldiers and bring them back to the MASH unit, competing against a computer-controlled rival helicopter until reaching nine hundred ninety-nine points; then, an Operation-style minigame, where you have to extract an object lodged in the patient with tweezers without grazing the edges of the wound. That unconventional mix sets it apart from the rest of the era's TV licenses, which usually bet on a single game idea. It remains, among collectors, one of the best-rated 20th Century Fox cartridges for the console.
