NBA Jam: Tournament Edition arrived on the Jaguar in 1996, developed by High Voltage Software and published by Acclaim Entertainment: the update to the arcade machine that had revolutionized basketball arcades with its two-on-two matches, impossible dunks, and players catching fire after hot streaks, now with more secret characters and gameplay tweaks compared to the first version. It arrived late in the Jaguar's life, when the console was already struggling to survive commercially. Even with that unfavorable context, it's one of the sturdiest and most fun conversions the system received, thanks to how well NBA Jam's original formula adapts to short games among friends.
