Super Asteroids & Missile Command came out in 1995, published by Atari Corporation, already in the final stretch of the Lynx's commercial life: it brings together renewed versions of two of the company's most iconic arcades, with graphics and effects updated from the 1979 and 1980 originals, but keeping each one's essence intact. The player can switch between blasting asteroids apart or defending a row of cities from a rain of ballistic missiles. It's a cartridge explicitly designed for the nostalgic fan, a way of offering two foundational pieces of Atari's history in a single release, at a point when the Lynx was already nearing the end of its commercial life.
