Mines 2 is the work of Bastian Schick, the same German developer responsible for T-Tris, one of the foundational pieces of the Lynx homebrew scene in the nineties: it continues the gem-collecting, rock-dodging formula that characterizes the genre inaugurated by Boulder Dash, with additional levels compared to a first entry. Like the rest of Schick's early works, it circulated very limitedly among the community of the time. It's a piece of historical value within the Lynx homebrew scene, representative of that first handful of amateur programmers who, already in the nineties, decided to keep writing new games for a handheld that Atari had stopped commercially supporting.
